May

The girls found this tumble weed, it is as big as they are. They had big plans on bringing it back to Michigan to show their friends and teachers at school, but we have detered those plans. It is really just to big to put in any vehicle. It resided in the garage for awhile and we have convinced them to let it go. But first we got a few pictures of their prize.

This week we had our "Bridging ceremony" for girl scouts. It is really just the last night where the girls get their prizes and patches for the year. Both girls and I had a great year. I had wonderful women to work with and the girls made some really good friends. Today, May 20, school is out and the pool is open. I thought they were crazy but we rode our bikes down there and there were 25 other crazy kids there for them to play with! Apparently the pool is heated and it is 78 degrees. They had a ton of fun playing with friends! We went and signed Karinda up for swim team tonight too, hopefully this excitement continues next week when it gets cold again.

At first glance life has been a little same old, same old here but then once I think about it, we have done quite a bit. I myself have been pretty busy with our new Praise and Worship service we had at our church here in April. Last summer when someone asked me if we had found a church I said we did, and it was good, but it wasn't Vriesland. She said "Well, maybe that is why you are there!" I didn't think much of it and then a few months later I felt like God was wanting me to start something at our church. I have had the privilege of worshiping in a church that is on fire for God. I have been able to experience God in a very real way and I do want to share that. And God has blessed us so that I do not have to work right now and I have the time. It wasn't a quick process, and I wasn't immediately obedient, but eventually I worked up the courage to mention it to a friend that I thought might be interested in working on it with me. It is a reality now and it has been awesome to see God work. I truly feel that this was Gods will and I am praying He is blessed by it. It has definitely been a learning experience for me as to who God really is and wants from us and what I think the church should be. The service is All Glory and our next service is May 15, if you could pray that God will move through us and the hearts of the people that come and more than anything that God would be glorified in this we would soooo appreciate it.

We also took another quick trip back to Michigan. The number one reason to go back was Eric had shut down, but while we were there the girls got their end of the year testing and we got to see a lot of people. The first night we were there was Trey's 1st birthday so we got to be there for his party. He is such a sweet little boy and so very smart. He holds up one finger when you ask him hold old he is.
We also quickly went up north for the weekend to get the cabin "renter ready" and check out the lake. BUMMER, there is no water.
The girls have been having fun with their friend Gaby. Yesterday they had a "Prairie Girl Picnic" in the front yard. They run between our house and Gaby's with their dress up clothes on and spend a lot of time in Gaby's playhouse. I am not so sure how I feel about it them running around looking a little strange but they do have fun and use their imaginations.
