Summer Saturday

Kylie and her friend Breelle had fun at the meet running around and playing in the "spray ground" that they had open.

Eric took a little nap in the shade while we waited for Karinda to swim her events.

We got to leave the swim meet early so we headed back to Cambridge where we met some friends at the pool and Eric took a nap after a couple of really busy work weeks.

The girls finally dared to go off the high dive again. They did it a couple of times last year but didn't dare do it again this year.

After supper we headed to the lake to try out our new tube. The girls loved it. They were always really scared to go out of the wake but daddy made them and they are survived! And are so proud that they can do it now.

I got to go on the tube with each of the girls so Eric wanted a turn. The girls thought he should go on his own. I don't know if they were scared of my driving or of riding with him, anyway...
We gave him a wide ride and the girls saw you really cannot fall off this tube.

Karinda swimming the 25 butterfly in the Championships for the Tsunami Swim Team League. She did awesome and got 3rd place. So good espcially for her first year, we are so very proud of her! Unfortunatley I was just coming to tell her good luck and she was lined up on the other side, so she is in the far lane, sorry not such a great video :(

Rain Makes Corn, Corn Makes Whiskey....

For those of you that have not heard the song, Rain Makes Corn, Corn Makes Whiskey is a country song that came out last summer. The girls loved to sing it when we were moving. We have had a very nice amount of rain lately and it is making for a very nice corn crop. This is some "dry land" corn that we passed. There is much taller corn that is irrigated and it is only the middle of July!

Summer is a flyin!!!

We wrapped up t-ball for Kylie the end of June. She loved playing and did great, her favorite position was first base. Usually kids are ready to be done with t-ball by the end of the season, not Kylie. She wished t-ball was longer. We have now started golf lessons instead and she is really liking those too.

Karinda has been loving swim team. She goes to practice everyday and never complains. Before the season started I thought I would be happy if she finished her races. She has been doing way better than that, she has gotten first a few times in the butterfly! We have "Championships" this weekend and she qualified for the 25 butterfly and 200 freestyle relay! We are so proud of our little swimmer!

Kylie usually enjoys going to the swim meats too because she can play with some of her friends there and eat all kinds of fun snacks! She usually can't get in the pool though, but the Thursday of the fourth of July weekend we had a "fun meet" in Arapahoe where Kylie got to play in the spray ground they have.

She also had fun at the playground.

We got a new boat just in time for the Fourth of July weekend. A small open bow and the girls love it. Karinda enjoys her little perch right in the front.

The first night they were a little nervous to go tubing behind the new boat. Kylie only wanted to go on her own and Karinda would only go with someone else. Kylie did good and Karinda goes for just a little bit and then signals to stop. She doesn't always want to stop, just to tell us stuff sometimes. We went out on Sunday night with some friends and they loved going on their friend Breelle's tube, looks like we need to upgrade to the flat kind of tubes.

Eric and I both got up and skied. It took me quite a few tries but I did it!

The morning of the Fourth of July we headed to Arapahoe to the parade with our friends Brylyn, Mallory, and Macy and their moms. After the parade there was food in the park and some fun stuff for the kids. I think that is one of the reasons I like it here so well, there are plenty of other moms whose husbands are busy working while mine is busy too.

At night we went out on the boat with the Springer's and had a great time. Karinda loves playing with and taking care of Kenley.

Daddy, Karinda, and Kylie jumping off the back of the boat on a hot Saturday night!

We invited our friends Autumn and Brenna out to go tubing. The girls took turns going with their friends and their friends were way more brave than Karinda and Kylie and loved it. rSunday afternoon we went tubing down the Republican River with our friends Mallory and Brylyn. It took about four hours and it was super fun and relaxing. Eric even left his phone in the truck, the first time he has officailly checked out in FOREVER! The girls can't wait to go again but the river is not very high so I am not so sure if we will make it this summer.

Our little swimmer, Karinda!

Karinda all ready to race.

The Cambridge swimteam at the last meet.
