Daddy Daughter Dance

The older girl scouts put on a Daddy Daughter dance this week Sunday. The girls were more than excited to go, daddy not quite so much. We got some new shoes, necklaces that say Daddy's girl, did their nails and hair.
Our little princesses were ready to go.

They said they had sooo much fun. Their favorite things were the limbo and dancing. They said they danced with their friends and daddy. They were quite worried about having to share their daddy but once it was done they never complained. He danced and twirled them they said, I am sure it is a night they will never forget.

First Boat Ride

It was another hot Saturday afternoon so we decided to take the boat our for our first ride of the year. It was a little cloudy but plenty warm. Yes, that is a pelican, and yes it is in Nebraska! This is the entrance to the campground and somehow I never saw the sign in the middle last year, but laughed out loud when I read it. Wow, you don't see that everyday!

Bird Watching and Childrens Museum

The Sandhill Cranes have been migrating through Nebraska from Texas and Mexico. They spend their nights in the Platte River and their days in the corn fields fattening up before they head further north to Northern Canada, Alaska, and Siberia. We wanted to check them out before they all left. We stopped at the Fort Kearney State Park to get some information and check that out. We were hoping to see some of the birds crazy dance that they do, but unfortunately we just were not patient enough. We did get to check it out on youtube though so that was good enough for the girls.
After our bird watching we headed to the Kearney Children's Museum. The girls had been there before with a friend and we very excited to show me around. It was the same price as Deanna's playhouse only better, and geared for a little older age group. They had this awesome water table that the girls could play with. You could put these "pieces" in and change the water flow. We made a few different mazes and then floated boats through them. It was really cool!
The girls had fun with the climbing wall and playing 4 square.
Their favorite was the store, as usual they found some friends to play with too.

VISITORS!!!!!

On April 1, my cousin Jaimee, Aunt Laurie, Taylor, and Brecken made the trek out to Nebraska for spring break. Not everyone can say that is their destination for vacation :)Saturday was 85 degrees and beautiful so we headed to the park for a picnic. Then it really was warm enough for the sprinkler!
On Sunday we headed back to the park. It was a cooler day. Brecken really liked throwing sticks over the bridge into the river and digging with the digger!

Me, my Aunt Laurie and cousin Jaimee.
Snack time on the merry go round.
By the time it was Sunday night it was cold but they still had a great time playing outside. It was so fun to have some of my family come and get to show them around and the girls loved seeing and getting to play with their friends again.

Happy Birthday Karinda

Karinda turned 8 on March 24. We had a regular school day (such a mean teacher, I know), and then at night we had the Sine family over for dinner and our friend Shannon even joined us!
She got some more fun gifts

Our friend Landon turned 6 earlier in the month so we celebrated his birthday too.
