Home Again

I got home safely this afternoon and it was good to see the girls again. They were good for a few minutes and then back to their normal fighting selves. Karinda is wound up so tight these days, she snaps all the time and is making for not such a fun girl. I think it is a combination of things along with not having daddy home, at least I hope it is, so that when we are all together again she is herself. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them. July is still a ways away.

On a lighter note, I had been told by all the non-Nebraska natives don't drink the water. They said "it just kind of sticks with you." I think it just makes your stomach churn. The second thing is I would not have made a good Israelite. (I had a lot of time to think.) They had to leave what they knew, they knew it was Gods plan, and that was good. They could see his hand leading them, and I feel we see Gods hand in a lot of our plans, but they just had to trust what they did not know, that is where I would not do well as an Israelite. I am just hoping God lets us in on His plan a little sooner than he did for the Israelites. I am also thankful for a wonderful strong husband with strong faith who tries to remind me not to worry.

Nebraska Life

Eric's parents are watching the girls so I could come out to Nebraska to start to look for a house. (Thank mom and dad) I told the girls I would take a picture of the pool and the park while I was here. This is the older part of the park, but still very nice, and nicely shaded!

The new part of the park looks like a lot of fun!

The pool would look a lot more inviting with sun, water, and other kids by the time we get here there should be both.

Oh Boy, that is all I can say, it is completely overwhelming to be looking for a house.

I did, however, learn a few things about Nebraska yesterday. When someone across the table from me ordered Dorothy on his salad, I quickly whispered "What is that?" Apparently it is like french dressing but everyone here calls it Dorothy. So, good to know when ordering salad. The second thing I learned at lunch was about "tanking", oh boy you might say. I guess it is kind of like rafting in Michigan only you tip a cow feeder upside down and sit in it with lawn chairs and float down the river. I am thinking I have a lot to learn about Nebraska life, I think it will be an adventure.

Just when I was feeling a little down about being done working, my wonderful husband sent a little delivery to cheer me up. I have the best husband!

All the Questions

There are many people with many questions. I will try to answer a lot of them.

When will we move? July 10, after our vacation.

Where will we live? Maybe in the house that Eric is in now, maybe in a different house in Cambridge.

What about our house in Zeeland? We will keep it, hopefully rent it, so someone is in it and can take care of it for us.

What about the Blue Beaver Lodge? Keep it and hopefully nothing major goes wrong.

What about my hair clients? I have talked with Crystal Nyland, Nicole Schut, and Heidi Wolters, they are all open to new clients.

What did the girls say? They said o.k., they took it way better than I thought they would. God is good.

How often will we be back? We have to be home to start school for the month of August, back for a count day in September, Christmas, another count day in February, and back in June to finish the school year. There could even be somemore trips in there, that we just don't know about yet.
Those are all the questions I can think of for now. I will post as we figure things out more!

If you asked me a month ago if I would home school, I would have said I am not cut out for that. In fact I did, but...Never say Never. Innocademy has been such a blessing and truly a God thing in our lives and it would be so sad to loose that, so...I will be homeschooling with the help of Innocademy. This will be interesting but good. I think the time spent with the girls will be good for us but it will be a prayer for patience and a lot of depending on God for His grace everyday.

Never Say Never

Where do I start....I will start in the beginning. Last October Eric went with a few people from work to visit an Ethanol plant in Cambridge, Nebraska, the plant was bankrupt and they were interested in buying it. Eric loves work and loved the idea of a challenge so although it was farther than some of the other ones they had been interested in, he was excited for the challenge. The whole bankruptcy, auction process takes awhile and finally just before Christmas they "won" the auction and ZFS was the proud owner of a plant in Nebraska.

Just after the first of the year Eric started traveling the 12 hours to Cambridge for the week and coming home for the weekend. That lasted about three weeks and by then he was exhausted. In February the girls and I drove out to Nebraska for a week to spend some time with Eric and in the pool at the hotel! Since then Eric has been coming home every other weekend.

From the beginning I have had a peace about moving, a feeling that can only be explained as the first of many God things. At first we said we would not move because there are responsibilities in Michigan and Nebraska, but as time has gone on, it has become evident that the responsibilities in Nebraska far out way the responsibilities here, so after lots of chats, prayers, and time apart we have decided that it would be best for our family to move and be together.
